Pan-Futi - The Miracle plant

Pan-Futi is also known as Patharchatta, life plant, Goethe plant, cathedral bell, air plant or bryophyllum. But it is popular with its ‘Miracle’ name. Let’s see why?
It is basically a succulent plant, Yess it doesn’t look like typical succulent but it is. Its leaves are thick and large enough unlike other succulents.
Pan-Futi leaves look fleshy and shiny wax coating on it. Its Wax coating restricts water evaporation due to which the plant can store large amounts of water in it.
Pan-Futi is a medicinal plant and has a huge significance in Ayurveda. It cures several such health issues which can hardly be cured by allopathic medicines. Which includes;
Kidney stones: Usually kidney stones are quite stressful for the common people. Many people think that it cannot be removed from the kidney but the Pan-Futi can be a miracle for you!!
This is my personal experience and I would like to share it with you all. Just follow these simple steps to get rid of kidney stones within a month;
-
Wake up in the morning (getting up early in the morning is a good habit :)) brush your teeth and take a single leaf of Pan-Futi, wash it and clean properly. It should be taken in with an empty stomach.
-
Put it in the mouth and start chewing it slowly so that its juices will start coming out. Eat the leaf completely, it is absolutely safe.
-
Have a glass of lukewarm water on it.
-
Here is one catch, if you intake a betel leaf (Wash it before eating) half an hour later eating Pan-Futi leaf. It will be more effective.
-
This treatment will remove the kidney stones within 15 days.
-
But follow this routine for at least 3 months to cure it completely and suppress the possibility of the new stones being formed.
Liver health: Jaundice is a health problem where the liver gets weakened. Sometimes Jaundice can be life threatened.
But here also ‘Pan-Futi’ shows the miracle in this case as well. It promotes strength to the liver and cures the jaundice rapidly.
Cure for Piles: Those who are suffering from piles know the unbearable pain. Pan-Futi the a miracle plant gives excellent results if you consume leaves juice twice a day.

Anti-inflammatory: A traditional approach of using Pan-Futi leaf for pain relief is, heat the leaf slightly first. Apply an oil whether mustard or coconut or
any oil on the pain area and tie the leaf on it using a piece of cloth. You will be able to realize the pain relief and reduced swelling.
Cure for cancer: It is being said (not sure)that the Pan-Futi has anti-tumor properties which is beneficial to cure cancer. It is also being said that
Pan-Futi is good for heart health.
Wound cure: In case you have any skin reactions, irritations, redness or even insect bite, place and rub the leaf on the affected area. It will cure the
irritation and soothe the skin.
So Pan-Futi has these miracle benefits. This is a low maintenance succulent which can be easily planted at home.
Pan-Futi’s blooming season is winter that January to February. Let’s have a look towards the step to grow it at home.
Pot Selection: Terra cotta pots with a drainage hole at the bottom.
Soil: Well-drained, sandy soil or a mixture of sand and loam soil.
Sunlight: Direct sunlight for 4 to 6 hours.
Temperature: Usually Pan-Futi can tolerate high temperatures. 50° to 80° F temperature is absolutely okay for this plant.
Water needs: Water your plant when you see the upper layer of the soil is dried out.
Note: Water the soil/potting mixture in the pot instead of the leaves. Watering leaves may create rot in the plant.
Fertilizers: Organic fertilizers every 3 months is a best practice to help your plant thrive.
Propagation of Pan-Futi:

Basically the name of this plant is self explanatory. Pan-Futi is Marathi name given to this plant based on its characteristics of propagating from it’s leaf.

The leaves have distinctive buds on them, if the bud comes in contact with ground it starts growing as a new plant.
Repotting: Repot the plant but not in a too big pot. The pot should be slightly larger.
If you see the plant is spilling over the pot then it is the time to repot.
Special Care for Pan-Futi plant
1. Do not keep your plant at less than 40° F temperature. It can tolerate high temperatures but not low temperatures.
2. Do not water the plant often during winter but make sure the soul is moist enough.
